On the pages read 2026-10-14, My Patriot Supply's 3-month kit costs $4.39 per 1,000 calories and the 4Patriots 3-month kit costs $5.72, about 30% more. The 4Patriots kit is also sized smaller, at about 1,551 calories a day against 2,000+, so it covers fewer days.

The two kits side by side
Prices and figures below were read from each seller's own product page on 2026-10-14. Prices change, so confirm on the seller's page before you order. If you want the broader picture first, start at best survival food kits, where all three sellers are laid out on one table.
| My Patriot Supply 3-Month | 4Patriots 3-Month | |
|---|---|---|
| Price (read 2026-10-14) | $797.95 | $799 |
| Servings | 846 | 712 |
| Total calories | 181,960 | 139,600 |
| Calories per day as stated | 2,000+ | 1,551 |
| Cost per 1,000 calories | $4.39 | $5.72 |
| Days at 2,000 calories a day | about 91 | about 70 |
| Cost per 2,000-calorie day | $8.77 | $11.45 |
| Returns as stated | 30 days | 90 days |
The two kits are priced within $1.05 of each other, so the whole difference is in what you get for the money. My Patriot Supply's kit holds 42,360 more calories (181,960 minus 139,600), roughly 30% more food energy for about the same price.
The arithmetic
Cost per 1,000 calories is the price divided by total calories in thousands.
- My Patriot Supply: $797.95 / 181.96 = $4.39 per 1,000 calories.
- 4Patriots: $799 / 139.6 = $5.72 per 1,000 calories.
A 2,000-calorie day is then two thousand-calorie units: $8.77 for My Patriot Supply and $11.45 for 4Patriots. Over the 91 days the My Patriot Supply kit covers at 2,000 calories, that is the full $797.95. To cover the same 91 days from the 4Patriots kit at the same 2,000 calories, you would need more than one kit, because one kit holds about 70 days of food at that rate.
Why the sizes differ
4Patriots states about 1,551 calories a day for its 3-month and 1-year kits (and 1,302 for its 4-week kit). Its 3-month kit is therefore a roughly 90-day kit at 1,551 calories a day: 139,600 / 1,551 = about 90 days. That is a smaller daily ration than the 2,000 calories used as a general reference figure by the FDA, which also says needs vary by age, sex, height, weight and activity.
Neither number is wrong. They are different design choices, and a buyer who compares only the two "3-month" labels will miss that one is a smaller portion of food per day. The same pattern is covered in what to look for in a survival food kit.
The five criteria
The five checks used across this site are: price per 1,000 calories, calories per day as stated, shelf life as stated and under what condition, returns as stated, and what is needed to prepare the food. Each cell shows whether the seller's own page states it.
| Criterion | My Patriot Supply | 4Patriots |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Price per 1,000 calories | STATED ($4.39, computed from page price and calories) | STATED ($5.72, computed from page price and calories) |
| 2. Calories per day | STATED (2,000+) | STATED (1,551) |
| 3. Shelf life and condition | MIXED (up to 25 years, "when stored properly", no temperature given in the page text read) | MIXED (designed to last 25 years under proper storage, no temperature given in the page text read) |
| 4. Returns | STATED (30 days) | STATED (90 days) |
| 5. Preparation needs | STATED (36.12 gallons of water for the whole kit) | MIXED (boil, simmer and serve, about 15 minutes; water volume for the kit not found on the page read) |
Notes on each criterion
Price per 1,000 calories. This is the one criterion where the numbers separate cleanly. My Patriot Supply's kit is lower per 1,000 calories on the 3-month kits read: $5.72 less $4.39 is the gap per 1,000 calories. It is a read-date fact, not a promise about future prices.
Calories per day. My Patriot Supply says 2,000+ and 4Patriots says 1,551. For one adult at the 2,000-calorie reference figure, the 4Patriots kit runs out earlier than its label suggests. For a smaller eater, a lower-calorie ration may fit; this site does not give individual advice, and the Dietary Guidelines calorie tables show how widely needs range.
Shelf life. Both sellers state 25 years under proper storage. My Patriot Supply says up to 25 years when stored properly, and 4Patriots says designed to last 25 years under proper storage. Both are the sellers' own statements, and the page text read gives no temperature or humidity figure for either, so the cell is MIXED for both. Detail is in how long survival food lasts.
Returns. My Patriot Supply states 30 days for unopened, unused products in original packaging, with the buyer paying return shipping and original shipping not refunded. 4Patriots states a 90-day satisfaction guarantee, with return at the customer's expense, proof of purchase and a return authorization, and final-sale items excluded. It also states a 365-day limited warranty for defects. The longer window is the 4Patriots advantage on paper. A 90-day window is shorter than the 91 days of food in the My Patriot Supply kit, so it is worth noting how the window and the kit's size line up if you plan to open and eat it.
Preparation. My Patriot Supply's page lists 36.12 gallons of water to prepare the whole kit. 4Patriots describes a boil, simmer and serve process of about 15 minutes. Drinking water is separate; Ready.gov advises at least one gallon per person per day.
Ratings shown on the seller pages
Ratings are the sellers' own displays, not this site's findings. The 4Patriots 3-month page showed 4.7 from 5,513 reviews on 2026-10-14. The My Patriot Supply 1-year page, a different kit, showed 4.89 out of 5 from 616 reviews the same day, and the individual reviews on that page include some critical of taste. We did not record a rating on the My Patriot Supply 3-month page. Because the kits and the review pools differ, the numbers should not be treated as a head-to-head result.
1-year kits, for context
The same pattern holds at the larger size. The 4Patriots 1-year kit is $2,799 (listed against $3,199) for 558,400 calories, or $5.01 per 1,000 calories. My Patriot Supply's 1-year kit is $3,191.80 for 727,840 calories, or $4.39 per 1,000 calories. The 4Patriots kit costs less in total but delivers fewer days of food at 2,000 calories: about 279 against about 364. A third seller lists the same lineup as My Patriot Supply; see Ready Hour vs 4Patriots vs My Patriot Supply.
Who each fits
- A buyer who wants the most calories per dollar and a 2,000-calorie daily ration fits the My Patriot Supply kit on the numbers read.
- A buyer who values a longer return window may weigh the 4Patriots 90-day guarantee more heavily than the per-calorie gap. The cost of returning is the buyer's in both cases.
- A buyer feeding a smaller appetite or planning to supplement with groceries may find the 1,551-calorie ration is enough, and can use the 4Patriots kit as a base; just plan for 70 days, not 91, if you eat 2,000 a day.
- A buyer who does not know their needs yet should read the My Patriot Supply review and the 4Patriots review before choosing.
What the table cannot tell you
A table of calories and prices cannot say how the food tastes, whether your household will eat it, or how it fits a diet, allergy or medical need. Those are individual questions. This site has not tasted either kit and does not claim to. Check each seller's ingredient and allergen information on its own page, and see our guides for how to weigh these checks before you spend money.
